* - Avenging Fist is a 2001 Hong Kong movie based on the game Tekken
** - Future Cops is a 1993 Hong Kong movie based on the game series Street Fighter
- The Pokemon video games were based on a card game so I'm not including them. Besides, they've made a dozen of the damn things and I don't want them cluttering up the list.
- Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever isn't here because the 2001 Game Boy Advance game Ecks vs. Sever was actually based on an early script draft for the film and not the other way around. The game's producers later made a sequel to that game that was based on the finished version of the movie. If it were on the list, it would be in the "sucks" column.
- Aliens Vs. Predator got ruled out because, despite the fact that there have been half a dozen video games about the idea, my understanding is that the film is just the meeting of the two movie franchises, not a rendition of any video game version.
