Because Robotman was a merchandised cartoon character before it became a comic strip, they made a lot of cheesy Robotman toys, videos, and children's books. Since it bears the Robotman name I've decided to include it all here. Enjoy!

Robotman proof sheet: These panels were mailed to newspapers from the syndicate and most of them were cut into six pieces and placed on different pages for the six days of the week. Sunday was handled separately. This particular proof sheet was spared the cutter. It comprises the week of 14 August to 19 August 1989.

Robotman children's books: Here are some children's books published in the 1980s. The first one, "Robotman and Friends at School", is a Little Golden Book, from Western Publishing Company, copyright 1985. It was written by Justine Korman and illustrated by John Costanza. The second book is a 1984 children's book from the UK publishing company Ravette Ltd. It's a hardback with laminated covers and the description reads as follows: 'Robotman and friends help two young French children to find a missing white elephant and Stellar is offered the leading role at the Paris Opera House - but attracts the enmity of an evil singer.' Riveting stuff. Finally, our third book is "The Stolen Ring," published in 1986 by Ravette Limited. This hardback has the ISBN # 0 906710 863, and here's a description: "Two crooks force little Lint to steal a valuable diamond ring but everything ends happily with Robotman and his friends giving a little girl her best Christmas ever.

Robotman Colorforms: If you were alive in the 1970s or 1980s, you may well recall these things: they were basically pieces of soft plastic with the characters on them, and you stick them onto the laminated cardboard scenery to make your own stories. Then you peel them off and start all over again. I might still have an Incredible Hulk set somewhere in the attic.

Stellar Plush Doll: A 12" tall plush toy manufactured by Kenner in 1984. This is "Stellar," Robotman's female friend and counterpart. The doll is stuffed soft cloth with a plastic head, and even has a little bow "propellor" on top of her head. Apparently "you can pretend to program Stellar's heart to tie into your own thoughts and wishes. Stellar is your best friend because she is on the same wavelength!" The different symbols on her heart (hidden behind a little pink satin heart with Velcro) stand for "I love music", "Come fly with me", "Let's be pretty together", "I'm your best friend", and "Let's pick flowers together." Touch the heart and hear her play her own theme song "Hey, Stellar!" Includes a little pamphlet about Robot Man & Friends. Requires one AA battery (not included.)

On the inside it says, "Here's a wish from Robotman, it comes straight from the heart, Hope your birthday's happy right from the very start!" The card on the right doesn't say anything on the front, but on the inside it says, "A friend is someone programmed for fun... JUST LIKE YOU!" Both cards are dated 1984. Cards are approx. 5 3/8" wide and 7 3/4" tall.
