02 May 2005 - Good news for Opus fans! It's finally being "printed" online by the Washington Post. Just click here!

27 October 2004 - This week Opus fans have something new to get at their local bookshop. Opus: 25 Years of His Sunday Best has landed. It's a 224-page hardcover item chalk full of Sunday comics pages from Bloom County, Outland, and of course Opus. The Opus section occupies the last part of the book -- naturally -- and reprints the first 18 weeks of the strip in vibrant color on glossy paper. Interestingly, they've swapped weeks 16 and 18, presumably because week 16's ending of Opus walking into the sunset is a better way to end a book. It's a really nice piece of work and it bodes well for future book offerings. (ISBN 0316159948)

07 October 2004 - Opus leaps from funny pages to film screens! Check it out, fellow Opus fans. According to The CBC, "Opus, the neurotic penguin who first appeared in the Bloom County newspaper strip, is set to become the hero of his own feature film. The proposed movie is the result of a deal between Miramax and the San Francisco-based animation firm Wild Brain Inc. The picture will use computer-generated imagery to bring Opus to life."

03 October 2004 - In case anyone wasn't aware, Berke is an investor in a company named Honest Tea, purveyors of fine organic bottled teas of nearly every variety. I for one was unaware of the Breathed connection until my friend handed me a bottle of their "Peach Oo-La-Long" flavor and I saw Opus staring back at me from the label. Check out the images in the links below, and pay a visit to their Official Site. Pretty tasty for an unsweetened tea.

31 December 2003 - That's all she wrote, folks. As predicted, I've received a message from Berke's syndicate asking me to remove the strips. I still urge those of you in America to contact your local newspapers about carrying the strip. It's gorgeous and very entertaining. Those of you in foreign countries, well...it saddens me to cut off your outlet here, but we can hope that at some point in the near future you'll have a legit viewing source online or in your local bookshop. Keep checking back and I'll post any info about that here. Vive le Berke! -Tim

24 November 2003 - Welcome back Berke! Yesterday marked the return to newspapers for Berke Breathed, creator of the hilarious strips "Bloom County," "Outland," and other works. As of this writing, the strip doesn't seem to be available anywhere online so I decided to help out the poor fans whose newspapers aren't carrying this gorgeous strip. I'll try and update this with each week's episode, so check back whenever you can. Thanks! -Tim
